Ancillary diving equipment

James Fisher Marine Services' offers a comprehensive selection of ancillary diving equipment, including life support solutions. 

JFMS manufactures to its own, or customer specific designs and specifications. JFMS's engineers assist customers with designs by drawing upon their deep operational understanding and knowledge of industry requirements and regulations put forward by certification authorities.

All items of equipment are International Marine Contractors Association (IMCA) compliant and are supplied with full certification packages allowing the equipment to be used in offshore and onshore diving locations. We also supply offshore diving technicians to help with equipment maintenance, testing and operational requirements.

A range of camera/light mounting brackets to suit various Kirby Morgan helmets (Mk 17, 27 and 37). These brackets clamp to the helmet handle and will accommodate a range of cameras and lights.

Containerised compressor packages are supplied in purpose-built containers to specification BS.EN:12079 or DNV 2.7.1. 

These units can be supplied with either HP or LP compressors, or a combination of the two, with a choice of electric or diesel power. LP and HP compressors, storage receiver and cylinders, sized to suit the application, can be supplied and installed in accordance with your requirements.

Housed in containers or transit frames, these systems use twin independent power packs to supply hydraulic fluid to the diver deployment winches. Both units have emergency change-over valves in the event of a hydraulic failure to either deployment or recovery winch.

Packages can be supplied in a container built to specification BS.EN:12079 or DNV 2.7.1. In containerised systems we offer an optional hydraulics tools power pack which provides hydraulic fluid to underwater tools.

James Fisher Subsea's designed dive panels are built in accordance with industry standards and rules as required, such as Lloyds Register of Shipping and IMCA D023. Other standards such as NORSOK U100 can be adhered to as specified.

Dive panels can be supplied in various sizes, configurations and finishes to suit any application upon request (subject to design limitations and industry guidelines). Regardless of the application, all panels are designed to facilitate intuitive use and ease of maintenance. 

Components can vary depending on customer requirements, but typical builds all use industry recognised components, including Swagelok compression fittings and Tescom regulators. Typical dive panels are all manufactured from stainless steel and can be supplied with either analogue or digital gauges as required.

Dive panel typical specification:

  • Nitrox dive panels incorporate compliant components throughout for oxygen enriched service
  • Working pressures can be adapted to suit customer requirements
  • All dive panels are pressure tested and certified to 1.5 x SWP
  • All dive panels incorporate safety protection devices as standard (safety relief valves)
  • All dive panels incorporate calibrated gauges, relief valves and flow meters with certification
  • Typical certification that is supplied with a new build dive panel would cover:
    • Gauge and relief valve calibration
    • Pressure testing
    • Leak testing
    • Oxygen service cleaning where applicable
    • Additional instrumentation as required
  • Additional features that can also be incorporated are:
    • Calibration points for all gauges
    • Gas present indicators (visual and audible)
    • Dive panels can be configured to support a diver monitoring system 

JF Subsea manufactures a 19" rack-mounted eight-channel diver monitoring package which will monitor and record the dive profiles of up to eight air divers simultaneously.

The system provides a graph which illustrates both the time and depth for each diver being monitored. The diver's depth is monitored by means of a transducer in a waterproof housing attached to the diver.

The SCUBA replacement system consists of a stainless steel transit frame containing an IMCA compliant two-diver control panel, regulators and HP storage cylinders.

The cylinders can be supplied in 200 or 300 bar pressure ratings and in either 20 or 30 litre storage capacities. The minimum number of cylinders per system is six to a maximum of nine, subject to your requirements.

We offer offshore transportable gas storage cylinder packs designed and built in accordance with BS.EN:12079 or DNV 2.7.1.

These are available in cylinder types and capacities from 16 x 50 litre cylinders to 4 x 400 litre packs.

The standard system comprises two stations: a bridge desk-mounted unit and a 19" rack-mounted dive control unit which has red, amber and green repeater lights, plus audio alarm.

The two stations are linked via a hard-wire umbilical and uninterruptable power supply with a minimum of two hours battery life.

JF Subsea's underwater camera has been developed to be small and light enough to mount to a divers helmet.

The high quality housing is machined from stainless steel 316L and the subsea connector, fixing screws and methacrylate lens cover all ensure that external exposed surfaces are well protected from the harshest environments. This provides a long-term, reliable and highly efficient solution for underwater use. The camera is designed to be able to cope with sending video signals via long distance diver umbilicals in noisy environments.
